When removing a snapshot in Virtual Center or on an ESX host the job hangs on 95%. Or so it appears. The actual commit of the snapshot is done at 95%, and if you have a large snapshot it will take some time for the changes to be written to the original vmdk image. It is generally advised not to run a snapshot for a long time.

Also note that you won’t see any disk activity for the virtual machine in the performance monitor in Infrastructure client. If you however check the performance for the ESX host, you can easily see that the disk activity has increased.
